Troop 22 Newsletter: August 2025 Edition

Updated: Aug 30

What a summer it's been, Troop 22! From the flintknapping workshop, water balloon mayhem in the rain, and supporting Jared with his Eagle project, we’ve had our fair share of adventure, laughter, and good old-fashioned scouting fun. We wrapped it all up on a high note with Tristan’s Eagle Scout ceremony this past weekend—what a fantastic turnout from friends, family, and fellow Scouts to celebrate his incredible achievement.

As we head towards Wednesday, August 6th, it’s back to regular programming with weekly meetings resuming at BELC and an important focus on shaping our 2025–2026 annual plan. Get ready to bring your ideas, your energy, and your enthusiasm—it’s time to build another unforgettable year of scouting together!

NOTE: Be sure to check the Troop calendar here & your email the week of each troop meeting to track any changes. Note location update for 8/6 meeting below.

Here’s a look at what’s coming up in August:

HELP NEEDED: Troop Shed Inventory Project (Sat 8/23 10a-1p prior to Gates campout)

We’re planning Troop Shed Inventory to get organized for the year ahead! We’re looking for up to 4 more scouts to help go through our gear, take stock of what we have, and make note of what we’ll need for upcoming campouts and activities.

It’s a great way to set us up for smoother adventures this year. Since this activity benefits our troop, rather than our community, there are no service hours required; however, lunch will be provided.

Location: Troop 22 Shed at the back of the main parking lot at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church 3700 Canyon Rd., Los Alamos
